A Long Awaited Dream

During the last Fall quarter at Whatcom, I recieved Western's acceptance letter for Winter 2009. After a flurry of administrative paperwork, getting advice, and registering, I started my first class today.
The entire quarter will be History! I finally get to delve into my major. The first class is History of the Pacific Northwest, another History of African Americans, and History from 1713 to the Present. Books? About fourteen! Amongst them some classic inviting texts, and one with an juicy title of A Pocket Guide to Writing in History.

Amongst the stack lies the one and only Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx. Oh dear! Well it was a part of history.
It is a blessing from the Lord, a dream coming alive.

Hey hey, now you're a Western girl - conrgatulations Historian Anne! Last night I was up late planning my spring and summer quarters. Lord willing, both will find me swimming - or at least wading - in my major. Hip hip hooray!
14 textbooks? I thought 4 books plus 2 online texts was alot for a single class. :)

P.S. I read part of the Communist Manifesto in Eng 102 and thought Karl's argument wasn't very sound... You have nothing to fear but walk boldly in grace. :)

Wow, that is a ton of books but I think you will enjoy most of them. :D I have been thinking about you and will continue to pray for you. So sorry about the Marx book, I know God will use you mightily.

I've taken a course in Pacific Northwest History too and another one on Western Civilizations which used the same textbook (the one with the photo of the immigrants on the cover) as yours! I enjoyed both classes. History is always interesting to study, especially when you know the Author behind it!
Have a super quarter!

Welcome!

This is a place to read snipets of history, presented from a Biblical mindset. Learning from the past is essential. One learns the mistakes and successes from our heritage and is guided in wiser paths to make your own stamp on history.
